Counselling and Psychotherapy

Issues such as anxiety, low mood, relationship concerns, trauma, addiction and a whole range of issues can benefit from counselling and psychotherapy. 

 

Whether short term focused work is needed or a more in-depth, longer exploration of complex and deep-seated issues, I will travel alongside you to help you to make sense of your experiences and to reach your own solutions with support and empathy along the way. 

 

It is your decision as to when you wish to end the contact and we can also discuss this together. Counselling can be a life affirming and life enhancing experience where you can, within a safe and confidential space, really tune in to yourself and turn down any distracting background noise to truly listen to yourself with support.

Life Coaching

If you want to deal with a specific issue in the here and now to improve your current situation, then life coaching offers a broad variety of techniques and approaches with which to explore, identify and work on your goals.

 

My training and experience in life coaching started in 2016 and over the years I have accumulated an extensive tool-kit of skills with which to help target and support your needs. 

 

Sessions are currently available online and we can together plan and review the number of sessions needed which can range from one to two or more depending on the target you are working towards. Supporting you to create your own individualised action plan, I will then facilitate you as you work on each step towards achieving your goals.

Are you currently working with people in the support and caring professions? You may currently be in training or qualified, for example as a Life Coach, Youth Worker or Drug and Alcohol Support Worker. 

I am an experienced and qualified trainer. My colleague and I have extensive experience having worked in the mental health field with adolescents and adults within the NHS.

 

We offer workshops and training sessions tailored to your learning needs to enhance knowledge of specific mental health issues and disorders that your clients may be struggling with. Together we can explore best evidence-based practice and skills with which to support your clients and improve the overall quality of your work with them.

Having a more informed approach in turn can help to enhance your clients’ wellbeing.

I work by initially respectfully really listening, deeply empathising and honing in on the pertinent areas of turmoil and distress, helping you to unravel the strands of complexity you may be experiencing.

I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches including:

  • ​​Person-Centred Therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Integrative and Relational models​​

​​Depending on your needs, we may work together short-term (e.g. anger or anxiety management) or engage in deeper, longer-term exploration.
